For more than a decade, New London Development Corporation (NLDC) has been proud to serve the city and community as a non-profit community development corporation dedicated to improving the economic health of New London, thereby improving the quality of life for its citizens and the entire region.
During the last few years, the City of New London has seen a remarkable investment in public and private development. Some of the highlights include:
Electric Boat, Division of General Dynamics Inc. Engineering Staff Complex - originally built for Pfizer Global Research and Development Headquarters - $300 million; 790,000 sq. ft. opened on 24 acre site in 2001 (2,100 employees)

More exciting projects are on the way, including an exciting residential townhouse condominium neighborhood for Fort Trumbull that is currently under development by River Bank Construction of Westport, CT. This project is adjacent to “shovel ready” sites that are currently available for development of hotel, office and mixed-use development.
Come to New London and be amazed at the vitality and excitement of Connecticut’s “Ocean City.” Whether seeking a culturally sophisticated smaller City, a less crowded way of life, a window into history, but especially for those that love the water and outdoor activities – New London presents an unmatched coastal location in southern New England. Here, “quality of life” is not just a slogan.
